Setting Goals

Most people go from one urgent task to another. Or they spend their time playing video games or on social media. They lack a game-plan or a roadmap for their lives. They don’t think about what they want to achieve in life. Or if they have goals they keep them in their heads where things get hazy.

Forcing yourself to think about what you want to achieve in life will help you write down goals. Writing down goals will help you make progress in a specific direction. This will give you confidence and this is what successful people do.

Some people know exactly what they want to do in life. Others take more time to figure this out. If you are unsure about what you want to do, pick something you would like to get better at such as a sport, musical instrument, or a skill like social interaction.

Maybe you want to be less shy and more confident talking with people. This is your vision. A goal could be that you will meet a new person every week and learn something interesting about him or her. Do this at church or some other social setting.

If your goal is big, break it down into smaller goals or objectives that are easier to do. Then you can break these down into daily tasks. However you do it, make sure you write it all down and take action.

Start by writing down 1-3 goals.
